Welcome to the Audfit blog!
I'm going to come out right away and just say how EXCITED I am to begin this blog and share my personal fitness, health and living tips to everyone!
Currently a full-time student, I've had my fair share of struggles with keeping up with exercising, eating right and managing a healthy lifestyle when almost everything around you pressures otherwise. After a lot of experimentation, trial and error, frustration and reward, I feel that I've been able to crack the code to balancing your time around living the best that you can. In the wise words of Nike, you just have to "Do it!"
So for my first post, I'm going to talk about just that: doing it! Before we dive into the nitty gritty of exercise, food and more, I have been thinking a lot on mental attitude in regards to living actively. Becoming more structured and strict with myself over the past year I have noticed a trend of how easy it is to come up with an excuse of why NOT to exercise. Why NOT to have an egg white scramble instead of two waffles with butter and syrup. Why NOT to take your dog up to the mailbox instead of drive. In order to make the changes in your life to be able to see real and tangible results you have to ditch the excuses and the "poor pitiful me" attitude. So you're not completely up to doing your workout today? DO IT ANYWAYS! Anytime you have a moment of "can't" turn it into a moment of "can" by thinking of the reward and benefit you're going to get from that workout. The post-workout endorphins and the satisfaction of knowing you did something so incredibly good for yourself! Heck, reward yourself with a piece of dark chocolate or an extra episode of your favorite show!
Now, I could sit here and type until my fingers were raw telling you all of these things, but in the end it's up to YOU to make these changes initially. Get in the right mentality. Be TOUGH on yourself. I have heard of people breaking down and crying because getting started was so hard for them. But once they did, they stuck with it- and loved it! Be another SUCCESS story, not another excuse for "why not". You've heard it a million times, but after you begin to see results (whatever results or success may be for you), it will give you the motivation you need to push through the "tough stuff" and propel you forward to even bigger goals!
I hope this first tip gets you moving towards your fitness goals! I plan to keep my posts much more concise and informative so that you're able to take them on the go and incorporate these tips immediately into your life! Please leave any questions or comments below - I look forward to beginning this journey with you all!
